Brief summary of clinical and research interests, teaching activities:
My main interest is the diagnosis and conservative treatment of retinal diseases.
I obtained my PhD degree in 2008 with "summa cum laude" with the title "Clinical and Laboratory Assessment of Diabetic Microvascular Complications", with the mentorship of Prof. György Salacz and Dr. Anikó Somogyi.
I am currently involved in the research of optical coherence tomography diagnosis of diabetic retinal disease and the assessment of its development. Currently, I am actively involved in a collaboration with Dr. Delia Cabrera DeBuc, PhD at the University of Miami Bascom Palmer Eye Institute working on the fine analysis of OCT images with the involvement of one PhD student. The results of our work since 2006 have yielded several posters and papers in national and international journals.
I take an active part in the graduate teaching activity of the Department of Ophthalmology in Hungarian, English and German language courses and am also involved in postgraduate teaching sessions both as faculty and sometimes also as an organizer.
