What happens during the procedure?

Consultation
First, one of our trained-assistants performs a pre-test and records all the necessary data. The next step is to have a detailed examination to determine whether you are a candidate for the treatment. Based on the results your doctor describes all your possibilities in-depth and answers any questions you may have to help you make the right decision.

Diagnostic examination
Our well-trained medical experts perform many detailed examination to check whether the laser procedure would be suitable for you. Be prepared to spend approximately 2 hours out the clinic. Your examining doctor will explain your results carefully.
Clear vision test
To determine whether you receive the proper vision correction, your doctor will examine your eye-sight with dilated and undilated pupils.
Wavefront measurement - aberrometria
If this examination is performed, your vision will be measured by a machine that gives detailed information to your physician.
Pupil measurement exam
Patients with large pupils, sometimes complain about seeing spots or patches after surgery. Your physician will determine whether the size of your pupils are in the optimal range for the procedure.
Corneal mapping
This examination is performed with the use of a computer operated device that uses points to measure the shape of your cornea and surface of the front and back wall. This is very important information. It lets your doctor know about all your individual abberations and abnormalities, and helps him determine the way in which the surgery will be performed.
Measuring corneal thickness
There are procedures that require your cornea to be 0.5 millimeters thick. It is very important to know whether it is thick enough for the treatment. If you wear contact lenses, you should not wear them for up to 2-4 weeks before this examination. This is necessary, because your cornea swells with the use of contacts and they could affect the accuracy of the results.
Eye diseases
This is an examination of your eye's general health. It includes the measurement of your internal eye pressure, cornea and retina. Your physician will inquire about your general health, and previous medical conditions to determine whether you have any other conditions that may prevent you from having laser eye treatment.
Based on the detailed technical information collected though the examinations listed above, your doctor can make an absolutely safe assessment of whether or not the procedure may be performed on you.
There are some cases where the results make the success of the procedure questionable. At this point the physician would consult with the head physician and decide whether certain tests need to be repeated. Together they would make a decision about your individual case.
