A new dimension in laser vision correction
– exclusively at Optimum Vision Center
TENEO™ 317 M2 laser system
Optimum Vision Center is committed to providing its patients with the most advanced, safest and most accurate solutions. That is why we are introducing Bausch + Lomb’s most advanced laser vision correction system, the German TENEO™ 317 M2 laser, to Hungary.
We are setting a new standard in the world of laser eye surgery.

What makes the
TENEO™ laser special?
Lightning fast, 1 dioptre per second, and extra precise
The TENEO™ 2 works at an impressive speed of up to 1 second per dioptre, making it the fastest laser on the domestic ophthalmic market. This not only shortens treatment time, but also reduces the chance of corneal dryness, making the procedure more comfortable and safer.
The ophthalmic industry’s leading multidimensional high-speed eye tracking technology
Compared to traditional 7D eye tracking systems, Teneo’s built-in 7D+ system delivers 65% better performance. The laser uses intelligent, multidimensional eye tracking technology that scans the position of the eye 1,740 times per second – three times faster than the laser beam repetition rate. The result: the laser tracks even the slightest eye movement with perfect accuracy and only activates when the eye is in the ideal position.
Revolutionary, unique laser beam profile
The unique ‘truncated Gaussian’ beam profile of TENEO™ 2 allows the laser to remove only the tissue that is actually needed. This:
- significantly reduces the risk of damage to surrounding tissue, protects the corneal tissue from extreme heating,
- minimises post-operative optical errors (e.g. night glare or halos),
- promotes faster healing,
- and ensures better visual acuity for patients – the majority of patients achieve 125% or better visual acuity, and many experience better vision than their best corrected visual acuity prior to surgery.
Iris recognition for maximum safety
The laser automatically recognises the unique pattern of the patient’s iris, eliminating the possibility of error. If the eye moves, the treatment stops immediately and only continues when the position is perfect again. This intelligent system enables personalised, micrometre-precise treatment with maximum safety.
Wide range of applications
TENEO™ 2 not only offers state-of-the-art technology, but also a wide range of treatments. Whether you suffer from short-sightedness, long-sightedness, astigmatism or a combination of vision problems, this system offers a personalised solution in every case.
Experience the difference offered by TENEO™ laser at Optimum Vision Center
World-leading technology is now available in Budapest – now is your chance to get rid of your glasses or contact lenses with the most modern and fastest laser vision correction system. Fast, precise, painless and completely personalised.

What vision problems can be treated with laser?

NEARSIGHTEDNESS (Myopia)
Between -1 and -12 dioptres
Laser treatment of myopia
Myopia is an extremely common refractive error and often a hereditary vision problem. Near-sighted people can see very well up close, but have a blurred perception of distant objects. This can cause serious problems in everyday life, for example, when driving, shotrt-sighted peaple are not always able to recognise distances or road signs correctly and in time.
In myopic eyes, the curvature of the cornea is larger than average, too convex or the axis of the eyeball is longer than it should be, which causes the light rays focus in front of the retina, so a sharp image is not formed.
A few minutes and blurred vision is a thing of the past with Optimum Vision Center’s laser treatments.
Safe and painless, laser eye surgery treats myopia by reducing the curvature of the cornea by flattening the curvature of the cornea, so that the focal point is shifted backwards, causing the light rays to focus on the retina.
Laser vision correction is possible between minus 1 and 12 dioptres
The treatment range for nearsighted people usually varies from minus 1.0 dioptre to minus 12.0 dioptres, but it also depends on the thickness of the cornea. Based on the results of your eye suitability test, your ophthalmologist will recommend the most fitting laser vision correction treatment for you.
Our fully customized treatment programmes will help us determine where and how the cornea needs to be altered to achieve excellent vision.
At Optimum Vision Center we have experienced professionals and state-of-the-art technology to perform successful laser eye surgery.
Take the first step to experience sharp vision without limits.
In all cases, a suitability test is required to decide whether eye surgery can be performed. The complex assessment takes 1-2 hours, depending on individual circumstances. We will assess visual acuity, corneal thickness and condition, and intraocular pressure. A thorough examination is required to determine suitability, which cannot be replaced by online tests.
The preliminary exam is painless!

LONGSIGHTEDNESS (Hypermetropia)
Between +1 and +6 dioptres
Laser treatment of hypermetropia
Farsightedness is a less common refractive error. Farsighted people have blurred vision both near and far. It can make it difficult to read for long periods of time, drive safely, use a computer, or even surf the Internet and write messages on a mobile phone. The need to adapt and concentrate often leads to headaches, which can ruin daily life.
Hypermetropic eyes have a corneal curvature that is too small, a surface that is too flat, or an eyeball with a shorter axis than necessary. This causes the light rays to meet behind the surface of the retina.
Don’t let the unpleasant symptoms of farsightedness make your daily life miserable.
The solution: laser eye surgery
The quick, painless laser procedure treats farsightedness by increasing the curvature of the cornea. It brings the focal point of the light beam into the surface of the retina eliminating the vision problem.
Laser vision correction between plus 1-6 dioptres range
The treatment range for farsighted people usually ranges from plus 1.0 D to plus 6.0 D, but this also depends on the thickness of the cornea. Your ophthalmologist will recommend the most fitting laser vision correction treatment for you based on the results of your eye suitability test.
Our fully customized treatment programmes will help us determine where and how thecornea needs to be altered to achieve excellent vision.

ASTIGMIA
Between -6 and +6 dioptres
Treatment of astigmatism with laser eye surgery
Astigmatism is a very common vision problem. With astigmatism the shape of the cornea resembles a rugby ball with two main curvatures: one more convex and one flatter. In 30-40% of the cases, a more complex, irregular corneal surface causes the problem. Due to this, light rays strike the cornea at different points, resulting in a blurred image.
Forget your cylindrical glasses.
Our high-tech and painless laser eye surgery regularizes the shape of the cornea by treating multiple curvatures simultaneously to concentrate light rays at a single point nt he retina. As a result, blurred vision can be eliminated.
Laser vision correction between minus 6 and plus 6 dioptres range
Astigmia can usually be treated between minus 6.0 D and plus 6.0 D, but the laser eye surgery depends nt he thickness of the cornea, as in the case of other common vision problems.
Based nt he results of the assessment, your ophthalmologist will recommend the most suitable laser vision correction treatment for you. Our fully customized treatment programmes will help us determine where and how thecornea needs to be altered to achieve excellent vision.

PRESBYOPIA
depending on your eye condition
Treatment of presbyopia with laser eye surgery
Having trouble finding the phone number on your mobile, can’t read price tags when shopping? Presbyopia is a refractive problem that is a natural part of ageing. Over the age of 40, the elasticity of the eye lenses decreases significantly, weakening the focusing ability of the eye and making it harder to read things up close. This is a condition that happens to everyone and cannot be avoided.
Presbyopia affects more than 1.5 billion people worldwide, and in Hungary this number is close to 4.5 million. Our eyes are constantly changing from birth to adulthood. We reach full visual acuity by the age of 5 and the diameter of our eyes increases by 25% by the time we reach adulthood.
Continuously changing the dioptric power of the lens allows you to see both distant and near objects sharply. The accomodation of the eye is normally between 12 and 16 dioptres, but with increasing age, accomodation decreases by 2.5 dioptres every decade. At the age of 40-45, the accomodation of our eyes is only around 3 dioptres.
By the age of 60, accommodation is completely lost, which means that objects within a distance of one and a half to two metres are no longer sharply visible at all, which can cause a great deal of discomfort both during daily work and during normal activities.
Forget your reading glasses, choose a solution that lasts a lifetime.
Presbyopia has been treated by wearing reading glasses, contact lenses or clear lensectomy with implanting multifocal intraocular lenses, given the joy of true freedom of eyesight.
Laser treatments for presbyopia
SUPRACOR laser eye surgery
Optimum Szemészet was the first in Hungary to introduce the SUPRACOR procedure, which can bring back the joy of visual acuity for all people with presbyopia. The procedure is fast, painless and safe, providing excellent vision at far, near and intermediate distances, and it is also a solution for people who have already undergone laser eye surgery.
Take the first step to experience sharp vision without limits.
In all cases, a suitability test is required to determine whether laser eye surgery can be performed. The complex assessment takes 1-2 hours, depending on the individual, and includes an assessment of visual acuity, corneal thickness and condition, and intraocular pressure. Frequently asked questions
Before the examination and the surgery
Why is the minimum age of 18 important for deciding on suitability?
The eye stops developing around the age of 18, by which time it has reached its full maturity. Laser procedures should be performed when the eye is stable and no longer changing, which is why the age of 18 is set. Of course, depending on the ophthalmological condition, your doctor may deviate from this in certain cases.
Is the suitability test only available at Optimum Vision Center?
The examination is only available at Optimum Vision Center, as the examination and the treatment is a single medical system and only we have the necessary examination equipment and computer programmes to plan the treatments.
How do I prepare for the suitability examination?
For a successful examination, it is important to keep the folloing details in mind.
You should not wear soft contact lenses for 4 days or hard contact lenses for 4 weeks before the examination.
The examination will include pupil dilation, so your vision may be temporarily blurred. Driving is not recommended during this period, so have an escort to bring you to us and take you home after the examination.
Do not wear make-up, perfume or cosmetics and wear comfortable clothes and shoes on the day of the suitability examination.
Find out more about laser solutions and the exact prices of examinations and treatments on the website.
Draw up a list of questions you would like to ask our advisory colleagues and your doctor.
Bring the following documents with you to the appointment: ID card, address card, social security card, previous ophthalmic medical documents, other medical documents, glasses, contact lenses currently in use, and details of all these.
Why is pupil dilation necessary during the examination?
Dilation of the pupil is essential for a thorough examination of the eye, allowing the ophthalmologist to see a more complete picture of the internal state of the eye and the changes in the fundus. Dilation is performed by applying eye drops.
Should I have the treatment in summer or winter?
Experience has shown that the time of year is irrelevant, treatments can be carried out at any time of the year. It is important to know, however, that UV protection after the procedure is very important for surface treatments, so you will need good quality protective sunglasses with 100% UV protection during the summer.
I am not suitable for laser eye surgery, are there any other surgical options?
If laser eye surgery is not an option, you do not have to give up sharp vision, the solution is a customized intraocular lens implantation. For high dioptres, the alternative is a clear lens surgery (or clear lensectomy), where we remove the eye’s own lens and similarly in the case of cataract surgery, we implant an intraocularlens that fits your eye.
The dioptre of my glasses is constantly deteriorating. Can refractive surgery stop the deterioration?
The strict criterion for refractive eye surgery is a stable, non-changing condition for at least a year. Dioptric deterioration is not stopped by surgery.
About the examination and the surgery
Will I feel pain during and after the procedure?
You will feel no pain during or after the procedure. A dull feeling of pressure is possible during the flap related treatment. 2-3 hours after the procedure, you may feel a slight sensation of a foreign body (as if some dust has got into your eye), but this will disappear shortly afterwards.
What kind of anaesthesia is used during the operation?
During laser vision correction treatment, an anaesthetic eye drop is applied, making the procedure completely painless.
After laser eye surgery
What to look out for after the operation?
To ensure a smooth recovery, it is important to follow a few things.
Use the eye drops as prescribed by our doctors. This may prevent inflammation or other unwanted reactions.
Apply artificial tears as prescribed by your doctor, even if you do not experience dry eyes.
For the first few weeks, protect your eyes from strong sunlight with sunglasses with UV filters. Your doctor will inform you about the details of wearing sunglasses depending on the type of eye surgery.
After the procedure, avoid wearing make-up for at least a week and avoid swimming pools, steam baths and saunas for four weeks.
Do not drive and do not do strenuous physical work or exhausting sport activities until your eye doctor says you can.
Avoid dusty, smoky, dirty places and do not smoke.
Ask your doctor when you can resume work.
Make sure you attend the check-ups, even if you feel free of symptoms.
In case of a complaint, come back for a consultation immediately.
Can I drive a car after the operation?
Although visual acuity is restored very quickly after flap related surgery, we do not recommend driving a car for 24 hours after the operation. At your first check-up, your doctor will let you know whether or not the restored visual acuity allows you to drive safely.
Can I have eagle eyes after the treatment?
No one can have eagle-eyes, because the eagle’s eye is structured differently: it has two areas of vision. It’s not something to yearn for, as the eagle’s field vision is very poor and can only be used within a very narrow range.
However, with the latest equipment and treatment programmes, we can achieve a human visual acuity that is better than any that has ever been achieved with glasses.
The aim of laser vision correction is both to enable people with no other eye conditions to achieve 100% visual acuity and to reduce the time they need to wear glasses or contact lenses in their lifetime or in their activities to as short as possible.
Will my vision deteriorate after the surgery?
No. What is experienced as “deterioration” in some cases is due to natural or undesirable anatomical changes in the eye. As the eyes become less adaptable over time, visual deterioration may reappear after the age of 40 and the need for reading glasses may arise. However, for myopes, anatomical changes in the eyeball may result in dioptric changes or, in the case of hypermetropia, previously hidden abnormalities may be revealed.
Can my ophthalmologist do the follow-up examinations?
No. The check-ups are carried out by a specialist at Optimum Vision Center, as from time to time there are examinations that need to be carried out for which the equipment is only available at Optimum Szemészet. If you have problems attending regular check-ups, your doctor will advise you where to have them.
Is it recommended to wear sunglasses after the procedure?
UV protection after the procedure is of great importance in the case of surface treatments, so you will need good quality protective sunglasses with 100% UV protection during the summer. After surface treatments, you don’t need more UV protection, just as much as everyone else.
What activities can I not do after the procedure?
In principle, there are no restrictions on everyday activities. But for the first month, you should avoid rubbing your eyes, squeezing them, applying make-up around the eye area, swimming, and staying in dusty, smoky places. It’s important not to do strenuous physical activity or exercise.
When can I start work after the treatment?
Following flap surgery, you can start work after your first check-up. You may need a week or two of rest after the surface treatments, then you can start work.
Who can I contact in case of emergency?
If you have any complaints, call our ophthalmologist or your surgeon. Our colleagues will give you the telephone numbers to call.
How long after the procedure will my vision be clear?
After flap treatments, you can see extremely well the next day, with full visual acuity in most cases. After surface treatments, recovery of visual acuity takes more time.Good visual acuity is expected after a week, with a further 3 months of improvement.
Can I get a medical warranty for laser treatment?
Of course. Before each procedure, we show you the possible results that can be achieved. If the result after the treatment is less than this, we will carry out a refinement treatment free of charge.
