PROSCAN PRK 7D+

An advanced version of traditional PRK eye surgery

PROSCAN PRK 7D+ is an advanced surface laser vision correction procedure that perfects the traditional PRK method. The procedure is performed using precise laser technology – without cutting or flap creation. The cornea is reshaped to match its curvature using Bausch + Lomb’s latest excimer laser system, TENEO™ 317 M2, to ensure maximum precision, gentle treatment, and rapid healing. During the procedure, the outermost layer of the cornea is removed, followed by laser dioptre correction to achieve ideal refraction. The treated surface heals within a few days. During this time, you may experience discomfort, a foreign body sensation and sensitivity to light. Sharp vision develops gradually.

The core of the PROSCAN method is correcting refractive errors (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism) while preserving the cornea’s natural shape and biomechanical function.
The treatment recognises that the cornea is not a perfect sphere, and reshapes its surface in a way that more closely follows the eye’s true optical anatomy.
This ensures that vision is not only sharp but also natural and comfortable, both during the day and at night.

Who is it recommended for?

A PROSCAN PRK 7D+ may be the ideal solution for those who:

  • have myopia, hyperopia or astigmatism and want a reliable, glasses-free life,
  • lead an active lifestyle – for example, they regularly play sports, do physical work, or have a military or extreme occupation,
  • have a thinner cornea and are therefore not suitable for other laser procedures,
  • are looking for a safe solution that does not involve flap creation.

The result: the laser perfectly follows even the smallest eye movements and only activates when the eye is in the ideal position.

3Revolutionary, unique laser beam profile

The TENEO™ laser beam’s unique energy distribution (“truncated Gauss”) ensures that the laser energy affects only the targeted area of the cornea and only to the necessary extent. This significantly reduces the risk of damage to surrounding tissues, minimizes post-operative optical errors, and promotes faster healing and improved visual sharpness.
Some patients achieve 125% or better visual acuity.
