Dr. Beáta Gáspár

After graduating from the University of Debrecen, Faculty of Medicine, , I passed my ophthalmology examination. For almost two decades I was a specialist at the Ophthalmology Department of Honvéd Hospital, and since 2000 I have been a refractive surgeon at Optimum Vision Center. In 2003 I was awarded the best lecturer under 40 years of age at the Congress of the Hungarian Refractive Surgical and Intraocular Lens Implantation (SHIOL). I have been a participant in numerous study trips and professional trainings and I am still attending professional trainings, as well as participating and lecturing at national and international congresses. I also regularly participate in clinical trials. I am a permanent consultant in helping out with diploma theses at optometric trainings. My specialties include laser vision correction procedures on the cornea, surface and flap laser treatments (PRK, LASEK, Epi-LASIK, ZYOPTIX, FEMTO-LASIK), cataract surgery (Phacoemulsification, Femto-cataract surgery), glaucoma, blepharospasm – botulinum toxin (Botox injection), blepharoplasty, Nd-YAG laser treatments, retinal diseases (age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy, intraocular venous disorders (fundus thrombosis), other diseases of the optic nerve), treatment of retinal diseases – intravitreal injections (vitreous injections), intraocular laser treatments, and advanced intraocular examination techniques: optical coherence tomography (OCT), fluorescein angiography (FLAG). I have an advanced level English language exam. I am also a member of the Hungarian Medical Chamber, the Hungarian Society of Ophthalmology, the Hungarian Refractive Surgical and Intraocular Lens Implantation Society (SHIOL), the GMC-General Medical Council- and the UK and Eire Glaucoma Society (UKEGS).
